Washington, DC—Today Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) cosponsored a resolution in the U.S. Senate to honor the life of former National Council of Negro Women President, Dorothy Height, who passed away earlier today at age 98.
“Today we honor Dorothy Height, a native Virginian who spent her life fighting for justice for all Americans,” said Senator Webb. “As a civil rights activist and confidante to many American leaders, she was unwavering in her commitment to equality and fairness. Her leadership will leave an indelible mark.”
