I have consistently fought for federal funding to implement high-speed Internet in Virginia.  I worked with the Virginia Congressional delegation to fund projects for Virginia’s Eastern Shore and Northern Neck, which will result in broadband access for thousands of consumers and businesses.  Access to high-speed Internet lines will allow more Virginians a pathway onto the information superhighway and a chance to grow their businesses well into the 21st century. 

I also supported passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) to revive our struggling economy by investing in long-standing needs throughout the country. More than $160 million in Recovery Act funding has gone to broadband Internet projects in historically unserved, underserved, and rural areas across Virginia.
