ShareMaintaining an Open, Interactive Appropriations Process
Congress has a constitutional role to play in assembling the federal budget. This process should be conducted with proper transparency and input from Virginians.
Senator Mark Warner and I consider all annual appropriations requests collaboratively to ensure that Virginia’s interests are well represented. We examine appropriations projects based on two principal factors: first, they must represent a wise and prudent investment of tax dollars; second, requests for such projects are considered in an open, transparent manner.
